Our Story

MontiFresh Yoga School exists because we believe yoga education should do more than prepare you to lead a class.

It should teach you how to think.

How to observe. How to ask better questions. How to work with the actual human in front of you - not an idealized version of one. How to make informed decisions, stay curious, communicate clearly, and recognize that there is rarely one right way to move, teach, or practice.

MontiFresh is a place for teachers to become, teach, and refine - whether you’re taking your first steps into teaching or continuing to develop a practice and career you’ve already built.

Our Approach

We bring together traditional yoga philosophy, contemporary anatomy and movement science, and practical teaching methodology without pretending they are all the same thing.

You’ll learn the why behind what you’re doing, not just the what.

We believe anatomy is most useful when it helps you see a real person more clearly. We believe philosophy is worth questioning and engaging with - not simply memorizing. We believe teaching is a skill built through repetition, feedback, reflection, and the willingness to try again.

And we believe a good teacher is never finished.

The MontiFresh Method

LEARN → PRACTICE → TEACH → FEEDBACK

Knowledge matters. But knowledge becomes teaching through practice.

At MontiFresh, learning is active. You’ll study, move, teach, observe, receive feedback, reflect, and try again. The goal isn’t to give you a script to follow. It’s to help you develop the tools and judgment to make thoughtful decisions of your own.

Because the real work begins when you stop asking, “What am I supposed to teach?” and start asking, “What does this person need?”

Meet Montana

Montana Mitchell is an E-RYT 500 and YACEP yoga educator, teacher trainer, and founder of MontiFresh Yoga School.

After years of teaching, training teachers, leading studios, and continuing her own education, Montana became increasingly interested in what happens beyond certification: How do we actually become good teachers? And how do we keep becoming them?

Her approach blends anatomy and movement science, contemporary Vinyasa, yoga philosophy, pedagogy, and years of experience in the classroom and on the mat. She is especially passionate about helping teachers develop the ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and teach the person - not just the pose.

Montana believes education should leave you with better questions, not just more answers.

We believe in practice over perfection, people over poses, and curiosity over certainty - because great teaching requires the willingness to keep questioning, adapting, and seeing the human in front of you.

Certification is a beginning, not an ending; MontiFresh exists to help teachers keep growing through practice, feedback, and continued education.
